Write for us
Rising Weekly Briefing welcomes pitches that help readers see familiar objects with fresh, well-supported attention. We are interested in clear, distinctive ideas about materials, design, making, use and the lives objects lead over time.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a focused proposal with a working title, the central question, the main point a reader will take away and a short outline of how you would develop it. Explain why the subject suits one of our categories. A specific object or design choice often makes a stronger starting point than a broad claim about taste or quality.
A useful approach
We look for accurate, original writing that separates observation from opinion and gives unfamiliar terms a clear explanation. Avoid unsupported claims, promotional copy and pitches that depend on specialist instructions or unverified stories. Do not submit work that has been copied or misrepresented as your own.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include your pitch in the message field; a complete draft is not needed at the proposal stage.
